Founders Campus @UN Studio
Heilbronn, Germany
In contrast to the neighboring buildings, there is an articulated differentiation in horizontality and verticality in the building volume of the new building Founder’s Campus. The volume of the building is stacked in 5 horizontal layers, emphasized by projections and local distortions from the orthogonal grid of the entire campus and the rigidity of the vertical volumes of the neighboring buildings. Within the compact position of the building volumes in the master plan, the building interspaces are activated: indoor and outdoor spaces flowing for a usage definition, for the connection of program parts and a generous spatial gesture created for the overall context, welcome students and guests of the building and to give the education campus a center. The aim is to achieve a high degree of identification, orientation, and quality of stay and to convey the external space into the attractive interior of the new building.
